It is not clear whether Director Josh Trank will return for a second installment (the man is busy following the success of Chronicle). But Max Landis, who co-wrote the first film, has been hired to pen a sequel.
Max Landis revealed a few details about the plot of Chronicle 2:
"You can't deny cars being thrown in the air in Seattle. You saw all those helicopters. The world changed. That's the end of Chronicle. And things are going to be different now. They can't possibly cover up what happened.

I loved Matt and I felt really bad for him because I understood just how emotionally lazy he is and how he doesn't really do what he's doing. And that's why I'm putting him through hell in Chronicle 2."

Max Landis also revealed that Chronicle 2 will actually be about the "world's first super-villain". So is Matt, the unlikely superhero of the first film, going to turn to the dark side? Is Andrew going to come back from the dead? Maybe it's Steve who's going crawl out of his grave? Or will some brand new evil character defy Matt? Any idea?
